I am BLACK ROSE

I am black. I am rose. I am Black Rose.

Seize the heart. Start the soul. Ceased to exist. Fiction, fiction, fiction. Now it’s reality. See me, hear me, smell me. Know I’m true, know I’m here, know, know, know. Who? Who? Who? It’s Black Rose! It’s Black Rose! Cry us pain! Share us tears! She’s here! She’s here! A child cries, “Who is Black Rose? Where is she?” A response, “She’s everybody! She’s anywhere!” Questions, “What? What? What?” Replies, “It’s true! She exists! And she’s here; now!” Second child, “Should fear overcome us? Why?” Answers, “Yes, you should, yes we would! She sees, oh, she sees! She writes, she tells and the world knows! Judge us, see us, she will! She will! One voice adds, “Oh, spare us please! We will delight you! Treat us fair, we shall. Oh, please, please, please! Don’t write, don’t write, don’t write! Save us from the condemned! Take the pen away! Take it away! And the paper too! Yes,yes. The paper too...”

She came, she stepped in, she set foot. She’s here.

“I am Black Rose. Tease me not. Why oh why with the fear?” Everybody shivered and mumbled. “Do not hurt us, spare!” Taken aback she was. Surprised, shocked, unexpected. “Oh people, do no turn away. Look up high in the sky! Gaze at me, see me true.” Two children raised heads, “She’s normal! She’s usual. She’s plain.” She smiled. “Friends, friends, friends, I am here to pass. I am here to write.” They cried, “Oh, that’s the pen! There goes the paper!” She was calm. She was relaxed. “I write no more than what my heart sees. If it touches my soul, it will appear. When it doesn’t then it won’t. Don’t be scared. I don’t condemn. I say no dirt but the truth.”

“Really? The truth?” People raised. People clapped. People cheered.

Next visit and the Black Rose came. “It’s Black Rose!” They celebrated. “She’s a friend, not enemy, no one to be feared of. She’s Black Rose!” Nothing more, nothing less. Not a ghost, not a bad person. Just a plain girl.

BLACK ROSE,

-20TH JULY 2010-
